Concrete pavements are by far the best long-term value, comparing to other materials, because it provides longer life expectancies, durability and minimal maintenance requirements. Moreover concrete pavements are recyclable and the entire operation can be accomplished on-site. Nevertheless concrete is used in many others application like curbs and street gutters, water drains, pylon foundations, retaining walls, viaduct columns and piers, railways concrete beam, etc.  Railways and roads are extended building sites (hundreds and thousands of kilometers) and their construction requires the creation of a continuous right-of-way, overcoming geographic obstacles and having grades low enough to permit vehicle or foot travel. They are the primary infrastructures and often are considered the basic for civilization and settlements.

Bridges

Building a bridge out of concrete can have many advantages. Generally, concrete is a highly versatile substance because it can withstand a wide variety of climates. It can be mixed in a way that gives it the ability to resist extreme temperature oscillations as well as corrosive chemicals. It is also more durable and less expensive than other types of materials. As a result, a concrete bridge functions well in most regions of the world. Concrete is also a flexible material, allowing an engineer to be creative when planning an artistic concrete bridge design project.
